Postcard for Piccolo and Marimba
Despite the apparent disparate nature of piccolo and marimba as instruments, the combination of the two provides the composer with lots of possibilities to explore different sounds and colors. That was my thought after receiving the commission for the work from my friend, piccoloist Regina Helcher.

Portraits: for Piccolo and Piano
The impetus for the composition of Portraits was a commission by my two good friends, Regina Helcher and Shannon Finney. They both are very talented musicians and piccolo players, and I wanted to compose a piece that adequately reflected their musicality.
